WHY WHAT HOW
WHY?
Place Management encompasses a range of industries from councils to retail encompassing any location which serves a large number of people including universities, offices, event sites, leisure, sports and hospitals. They all share similar challenges and problems that City Dressing can solve.
WHAT?
The challenges of a place manager involve the perception, navigation, use, security and health of a place. The aim is to attract people to a place based on the quality of the experience. Solving problem and making places work better is vital for the economic and social health of an area. Poorly managed places attract more ASB and hinder worthwhile activities.

HOW?
- Positive perception is increased through place marketing strategies including outdoor media and selfie opportunities that enables the sharing of positive images via social media.
- Navigation is key to enabling a good experience of a place with City Dressing specialising in temporary wayfinding solutions that using QR codes can link with online mapping. Gateways and floor graphics are key in helping people locate.
- Successful use of a place includes making sure people are comfortable and can socialise and the experience is positive with things to do. Even though this depends what a places primary purpose is the installation of good seating, planting, decorations, events and props can transform a place, increase dwell time and give everyone a great experience.
- Security is about making people feel safe by reducing ASB and crime by making sure a place is accessible and inclusive. Temporary interventions can make a big difference to security by attracting a greater mix of people and engaging people so they like and respect the place.
- The health of a place is improved with sustainable policies and good infrastructure. Improving cleanliness, air quality and healthy activities as well as encouraging more social interaction to improve both physical and mental health.
